Scenario

You are working for a website company called IT Industry Info – or Conel WebDesign. Your manager has asked you to create a presentation, table and a video to be shown on the website that explains the hardware and software that are needed to create and edit graphical images. This is in response to requests for information from many subscribers to the website who want to learn more about computer graphics.

TASK 1 – The world of computer graphics (P1)

Produce a presentation that:

1. Identify and describe all the hardware and software that is needed to work (create and edit) with graphics
          b) Explain why each piece of equipment is necessary and explain the purpose of each software program.
   Guidance
   Your presentation should provide an introduction to the world of computer graphics. It is important that people understand why working with graphics is different to a normal computer application or process.
   You presentation should make use of images and short summaries (bullet points).
   Each presentation should be at least 5 slides long.   You should upload the presentation slides as evidence on Moodle. 
   TASK 2 – Hardware devices for computer graphics D1, M1
   Produce a table of comparison that includes the hardware devices while describing limitations and software features. (M1)
   Why Graphics is Important to understand when you work with different normal application process
   Computer graphics enables computer to display and manipulate information in graphical or pictorial form in a visual –display that human being can see and understand, also enables us to print  graphical information in different ways such as 3D or 2D, they are different types of computer graphics – Raster and Vector, the raster composed of pixels whilst vector composed with drawing path this means they are different software application to use to edit this files such as Photoshop, Paint and CorelDraw, this also brings me to a point that when you use different software’s you have to save files in different formats so that you won’t lose the quality or resolution of your graphical you produce, we use graphics in different ways of accepts such as picture editing and creating images, as well editing videos using software’s I mentioned above

Autofocus	Lens	The autofocus system might have larger impact on its focusing performance that refers to its limitations the power of the lenses might either increase or reduce the image quality or clarity based on the focused point and distant, if you have 1.4  prime lens it has advantage of capture wider and allows you to blur the background but it might shoot in the lower light mode, and give you better quality image	This feature to work uses operating system on the Mobile Phones/SLR cameras have the software either to turn on or off this feature, it also allows us to change an set the quality of the image or photo you are focus to capture, you can change to the HD pictures or Live pictures to have a good quality.	Due different purposes the software might allow you to focus on the one object or person at a time, especially mobile phones due to its purpose and the size of the mobile phone, the software have a distant you can zoom with a good quality a distant of 100m to 200m maximum with high quality of image, however some device enables us to focus on more than two objects or more
Load pictures	Graphics Card	Graphics card it has the limitations when it comes to display the resolution on screen, the high speed graphics card you have the more detail you get on the screen, of your mobile or camera and the better quality of image you will have, more memory on your graphics card more things you can do with your camera you can change to HD or Live images which requires more space to save each pixel	The software uses Phone or camera operating system to RUN the application, supported with different hardware I mentioned on hardware column.	Pictures made with pixels and the larger number of pixel you have the more you can edit image, editing image is limited with pixel on the image, sometimes it might lose its quality if you increase them too much or it gain quality depends with the type of image you are using either if it is raster or vector.
Liquify	Graphics Card RAM ,Hard Disk	The liquefy filter it has the limitations especially when you increase the pixels on the image might either loses quality or gain more quality, images edited by Photoshop normally are  big in size, meaning  might take long to RUN or load on the application if you don’t have enough space in RAM	Photoshop uses computer operating system to RUN the application, supported with different hardware I mentioned on hardware column. With different limitations such as low memory or slow speed of each of these components leads to poor quality image, that refers to high speed and larger memory produces good quality images as this gives the full detail of the image you will be editing	Pictures made with pixels and the larger number of pixel you have the more you can edit image, editing image is limited with pixel on the image, sometimes it might lose its quality if you increase them too much or it gain quality depends with the type of image you are using either if it is raster or vector.
Zoom in / out	Lens	system might have larger impact on its focusing performance limitations the power of the lenses might either increase or reduce the image quality or clarity based on the focused point and distant by zooming 20x or more you are easily to lose	Power of the lenses might either increase or reduce the image quality and resolution based on the zooming point and distant where you are.	Zoom allows users to zoom out and in for a certain distant depends with the device you are using especially on the mobile phones they are too limited due to its own purposes compering to the cameras that can zoom  for a long distant without losing image or object quality of resolution

You will need to produce a short report that describes the features of different graphical hardware devices.

Think about the hardware devices that are used to capture images/photos and the different ways that this is achieved. You should cover at least two different devices.  (D1)

Introduction

Nowadays graphics devices have been developed to enable to interact in the more realistic manner, this graphics devices allows us to capture images and transfer to another devices and manipulate them, the quality of the images depends on the size and the resolution of the monitor

Digital Camera

Camera is a device that produces digital images that can be stored in a computer and displayed also can be stored in many other devices, camera have different features we can use to capture  better  quality images, its self it is small in size.

Zoom level – digital zoom controlled by the software build or within the camera, also it makes the process of taking pictures more creative you can only focus on the area you want to capture deselecting the place you don’t want, also zooming as you zoom in the focal length increase and gives you better quality whilst when you zoom out the focal length decrease and give your less detailed photo due to pixels, this feature allows users to either capture images from afar with better quality of images.

Resolution refers to the sharpness or the detail of the image meaning high number of pixel images have the higher resolution you will have, the camera comes with 18 mega pixels minimum meaning it offers good quality of printing and the images doesn’t come blocky when you print it on the paper this feature allows professional photographers to capture good quality of images and print either in in 2D or 3D.

LCD Screen- this feature is important because it allows us to see what the photo will look like, if you need to retake, it allows us to use multi- applications on the screen such as you can erase what you don’t need you can even edit the image some digital cameras comes with an application to enable users to edit image before you save it.

Lens- helps us when it comes to auto-focus, autofocus system have larger impact on its focusing performance that refers to the power of lenses increase the image quality or clarity based on the focused point and distant, also it enables us to capture wide range backgrounds to give us a better quality image with high graphical resolution

Scanner

Scanner is a device that captures from photographic prints, posters, and magazine by achieving images through this method means you can get images quickly and you can transfer them to different devices as well, you can do different things with graphic files you scan, without losing quality of the image of document

Quality- Resolution

Settings vary from the models of the scanners, some flatbed scanners with capable of scanning at 1,200 per dots meaning scanners have higher resolution with high quality, you can also manually adjust the DPI via the device application program you can decide if you want the picture to be scanned in black and white or in colour, allows you to zoom in to about 200-250% before you get loss of resolution, more than 600 dpi if you are likely to want to magnify significantly and edit afterwards.

Additional features

Some of the scanners you can connect to your mobile phones or computer through universal serial bus connection and transfer the graphical files you scan to different devices such as I mentioned above.

Editing –once you have scanned using OCR you have options to edit text on the image or letter you scan as an image using word processing program of your choice, you can add different effects to your images for example you can draw the logo free hand and then scan it into the computer and edit the logo using a graphical application. This will add a good effect to your logo

Mobile Phone- IPhone

Camera - it has the best cameras to be found on the mobile phones, it is easy to use and quick to start its features are more advanced and powerful such as auto HDR to enhance the difference between light and dark colours in order to give balanced image

ISight rear camera has the ability to record and capture full HD 1080 at 60 frames per second as a result of a slight shaper good quality image

Better slow mention and live image features which enables the ability to record a slow mention video / a live image using new update with a good resolution on the picture you capture neither video

Other thing meant for video and live pictures is that now you can record those moments in high resolution that 4 times higher HD videos, you can zoom up to 8 million pixels while you are shooting or playing these moments

Zoom/flash –using IPhone you can zoom up to 12*7 to come up with better shaper and high resolution picture also now they introduced flash for your face Facetime HD camera which detects the lighting around you and then true flash will figure out the display matches the ambient light for a gorgeous shot

Edit images/ preview – IPhone it’s self it does have application on the gallery where you can view photos you took and at the same way you can edit them from their as you can change pixels, colour size etc.
